Panasonic is committed to sustainability with a new circular economy model

The tech company has launched a new sustainability program called TOUGHBOOK Revive.

Panasonic has launched a new sustainability program called TOUGHBOOK Revive, which aims to extend the lifespan of its products and reduce the impact of production and consumption.

The program is part of Panasonic’s corporate “GREEN IMPACT” strategy, which prioritizes sustainability within the technology industry.

TOUGHBOOK Revive is a not-for-profit sustainability program that encourages European customers to donate their retired TOUGHBOOK devices for responsible recycling or revival.

Any devices that can be refurbished at the European Service Centre in Cardiff will be donated to charitable causes or sold on the second-hand market. The proceeds from this initiative will cover the expenses associated with device refurbishment.

Daichi Kato, Head of Mobile Solutions Division at Panasonic Connect Europe, stated that there are no “quick fixes” when it comes to sustainability, but Panasonic puts ESG initiatives “at the heart” of everything it does. He adds, “I’m sure that our customers will embrace programs like TOUGHBOOK Revive to help create a more sustainable future with us.”

Through the “GREEN IMPACT” sustainability program, Panasonic has committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions across its business operations by 2030 and across the entire value chain by 2050.

The company is dedicated to achieving its sustainability goals by prioritizing the expansion of clean energy generation and renewable energy utilization. The company is also committed to reducing energy consumption by maximizing energy efficiency and minimizing resource consumption and waste through circular economic practices.
